Quattro Club Chairs For Wheelchair Basketball in England
RGK are supplying 135 Quattro Club basketball wheelchairs which are to be used for the development of wheelchair basketball. The chairs are being co-funded through the Lord’s Taverners, the Hilton Foundation and the GBWBA and are being sent to various places throughout England including Stoke Mandeville Stadium in the South East, Filton College in the South West, Leicester Cobras in the East Midlands and Oldham Owls in the North West.
Charlie Bethel, Chief Executive of the GBWBA said: “This is the first time we have had an investment in wheelchairs to this magnitude. The partnership funding from Sport England, the Lord’s Taverners and the Hilton Foundation is tremendous and we are confident that by distributing a network of wheelchairs we are breaking down the principal barrier to the sport. The RGK Quattro Club chair is the perfect piece of kit to cater for the wide spectrum of young people we will meet. The impact of this support is to allow every young person we meet the opportunity to play wheelchair basketball through taster days and club development at a local level.”
Junior Championships
The National Regional Wheelchair Basketball Junior Championships took place from Friday 30th October to Sunday 1st November at Stoke Mandeville. It was another successful tournament, with all teams involved showing great improvement.
In the U19’s competition, the team from Yorkshire beat the East Midlands team 29-16 and took the gold medal, with the Northwest taking the bronze. In the U15’s competition, the team from the East took the gold, beating Northern Ireland with a final score of 15-12. The team from the Northwest took the bronze.

New Turkish Distributor
RGK are pleased to welcome Serefhan Trade as the new RGK Distributor for Turkey.
Serefhan Trade launched their new project by being sponsors of the IWBF European Championships held in Adana, Turkey in October 2009 and are already supplying the needs of the fast growing wheelchair basketball community in Turkey.

New Staff Members
RGK would like to welcome two new members of staff to the team.
Mick Cattell joins RGK in the role of welder/fabricator. Mick will be working alongside our other fabricators taking responsibility for the final welding process of chrome moly frames.
Andy Pelari is also new to RGK and joins in the role of Materials Control Assistant, responsible for receiving shipments and checking stock levels.
A big welcome to the RGK team to them both!
